HSE Management System
BKKS recognizes that Occupational Health and Safety of its employees and others involved in, or affected by its operations and the protection of the environment, is an integral part of the Company’s business performance, and a prime responsibility of management at every level.
BKKS Management is taking responsibility for the provision of all required resources to maintain and develop Occupational Health and Safety management system, supporting its continuous improvement by following legislative and other requirements applied to the Company activities to achieve the highest results.
Simple Occupational Health and Safety objectives considering the Company’s obligations are:
- ensuring Occupational Health and Safety of all employees of the Company and Subcontractors by preventing workplace injuries and impairment;
- keeping at zero the level of workplace incidents;
- ensuring risk to indirect persons as a result of Company activities is at a minimum;
- constantly improving management system and achieving high level of occupational health and safety performance;
In May, 2017 BKKS has achieved 7,000,000 man-hours without a Lost Time Incident (LTI) at Karachaganak field for 8 years (2009-2017) while realization of the projects: RMS-Y, Well 9856, 9853, UOTS and KGDBN at KPC.
BKKS has set 4 «Simple Safety Rules» in the Company:
- No job is so important that it cannot be done safely.
- No PTW, No Work.
- Always wear your PPE for the tasks you are performing.
- Always take care of yourself and your colleagues.
To achieve and maintain high levels of HSE performance the Сompany has adopted HSE cards system in which we have been striving for the following target: 1 HSE card per 450 man-hours. In April, 2017 we have achieved this target. In May, 2017 BKKS LLP has been involved in «KPO in safety 2017» program and the goal of this program has been successfully reached.
BKKS has improved communication between workers and management by implementation of the following actions:
- BKKS has added supervisors to act as interface between workers and management while still maintaining an open door policy.
- BKKS has implemented pre-shift briefings to inform workforce of any issues of note from the previous rotation, ongoing scopes of work and plans in the near future.
- Regarding incident flashes stand downs are conducted and discussed with the workforce.
- Tool box talks to relay important information in the mornings.
- Signs and message boards on base and on site.
- Each job location being supported by HSE in order to address any concerns.
- Engagement in the HSE card system to give an avenue to express any issues of concerns.
- BKKS has developed and implemented rewards for good practice or suggestions.
As per the our Сompany HSE policy and safety standards, one of BKKS’s priorities is to ensure that the above mentioned job specific BKKS HSE Plans, work related procedures and safety programs always align with our Client’s requirements and fully comply with RoK related standards.
